"Boy Interrupted"
A feature-length documentary
Your support will help ensure that viewers can experience one family's powerful story and better understand the realities of mental illness and suicide.
Please join The Jed Foundation and Perry Films in helping to raise money for this film about the life, bi-polar illness and suicide of Evan Perry, entitled “Boy Interrupted”.
Your generous donation is tax-deductible, and every dollar goes towards the hard costs of completing the film, which will air on HBO sometime in 2008.
HBO and Perry Films have provided the bulk of financing, but we still need to raise approximately $100,000 for transcription, graphics, film and tape transfers, composer, sound mix, music licensing, on-line, dubs and the creation of a companion study guide.
Although the film concentrates on the circumstances of Evan’s story, we feel that by telling that story as honestly as possible, we can communicate the importance of understanding the challenges of bi-polar illness and suicide to a wider audience. By presenting the story on human scale, rather than through graphs and statistics, we hope to bring attention to the stigma associated with mental illness in general, and suicide in particular.
We hope you will be part of it by making a donation of any amount to The Jed Foundation. Donors will be listed in the film credits, receive invitations to screenings, DVDs of the completed film and our deepest gratitude.
