Community Implementation Capacity Study (CICS)
CICS, formerly the Pilot Program, was developed in partnership with the Education Development Center, Inc. and the University of Rochester's Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide.
The goal of the study is to increase the evidence base regarding effective suicide prevention and mental health promotion activities on college campuses, which supports Objective 4.3 of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
With support from The Jed Foundation, the following areas are among those being studied at MIT, Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, Princeton, and the University of Rochester:
- Gatekeeper training: Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR)
- Clinical skills training: Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk Workshop
- Self-injury surveillance: Survey of College Mental Health and Well-Being
We will share data from this study as soon as it is available.
The evaluation of Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk was funded through an unrestricted educational grant from Forest Laboratories, Inc.
