Half of Us

Half of UsHalf of all college students say they have been so depressed they couldn't function at some point during the last school year. Half of all college students say they have been so stressed that they couldn't get their work done or socialize with friends during the last semester. And half of all college students say they have had suicidal thoughts.

Half of Us is a groundbreaking national campaign which raises awareness about the prevalence of mental health issues on campus and connects students to the appropriate resources to get help. Developed with our partner mtvU — the largest television network for college students reaching over 9 million students — this Peabody award-winning program features high-profile artists like Mary J. Blige , Pete Wentz and Brittany Snow discussing their own struggles with mental health issues. These stories, along with the campaign's resources and interactive elements, help students learn they are not alone. The campaign has generated over one billion impressions since it was launched in late 2006, reaching students at over 750 colleges.
